About the Role:
Hims & Hers is on a mission to empower people to live healthier lives.
We’re looking for a Software Engineer II to join our Fulfillment and Pharmacy Software Engineering team. You’ll help design, build, and support a self-service platform that powers pharmacy operations and customer order fulfillment.
Within the growing Front End team, you’ll collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, designers, and cross-functional leaders to deliver solutions for the team. Your work will ensure the system remains reliable, scalable, and adaptable to evolving business needs. Your influence will elevate the technical quality, delivery, and maintainability of our systems within the team.
You Will:
- Independently design and implement medium-complexity, scalable, maintainable, and performant front-end solutions aligned with product and operational needs.
- Partner closely with engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver intuitive, customer-focused user experiences.
- Break down complex problems into digestible, actionable implementation plans.
- Write high-quality, resilient code using modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks such as Next.js, Storybook, and Cypress.
- Contribute to architectural decisions within your team and ensure high-quality designs through active participation in design and code reviews.
- Define and implement testing strategies and ensure strong test coverage for new features and critical workflows.
- Lead efforts to enhance system observability by implementing monitoring strategies that support reliability, performance, and proactive issue resolution.
- Proactively identify opportunities to reduce technical debt and advocate for team process improvements
You Have:
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with demonstrated growth in ownership and impact.
- Proficiency in modern front-end technologies and frameworks: React, TypeScript, Javascript, HTML, CSS.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment tools (GitHub Actions).
- Solid understanding of system design principles, testing strategies, and operational best practices.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with a willingness to navigate ambiguity, unblock teammates, and drive clarity.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with NextJS, Storybook, Cypress
- Demonstrated comprehension of client- and server-side technologies.
- Proficiency with hosting front ends and web applications on Kubernetes and AWS
- Familiarity with front end observability via Datadog
