About Pluralis

Pluralis Research works on Protocol Learning— training large models in a fully decentralised way on small consumer-grade devices connected via the internet. Despite being dismissed as infeasible, we have made significant advances on this problem, most recently training an 8B llama model from scratch with devices in physically different regions.

Overview

Pluralis Research is building foundational systems for decentralised model training. The Growth Lead will define how Pluralis communicates, grows, and engages with the broader research and developer ecosystem.

This role blends strategic marketing, storytelling, and community leadership. You’ll design growth strategies that build awareness, attract contributors, and strengthen Pluralis’ position as a leader in decentralised AI research.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute growth strategies across marketing, content, and community channels.
• Build and manage Pluralis’ online presence, narrative, and community engagement.
• Create and distribute high-quality content across social, blog, and partner platforms.
• Collaborate with Research and Engineering to translate technical work into accessible, engaging stories.
• Identify and activate growth loops through partnerships, events, and earned media.
• Track and analyse key growth metrics to refine strategy and impact.
• Lead outreach with press, partners, and ecosystem leaders when relevant.

What we're looking for

• Proven experience driving growth or marketing in early-stage or technical organisations.
• Strong understanding of developer, AI, or open research communities.
• Ability to craft clear, compelling narratives around complex technology.
• Experience managing digital channels and community platforms (Twitter/X, Discord, LinkedIn, etc.).
• Strong writing, storytelling, and analytical skills.
• Hands-on mindset with an ablility to execute as well as strategise.

The Right Candidate

• Track record of securing press, podcasts, or other high-impact public artifacts
• Strong writing ability: able to translate dense technical topics into accessible content without hype; convey substance with clarity
• Has built and grown a technical audience before
• Familiarity with ML concepts (e.g. training loss, PyTorch, attention layer)
• Experience successfully supporting founder-led marketing

Nice to Have

• Experience in technical marketing or developer relations.
• Prior work with open-source, research, or ML ecosystems.
• Familiarity with performance marketing, analytics, or growth experimentation.
• Relationships across media, research, or AI communities.
